For the last month or so, I've been buying a couple of pints of strawberries from my local organic farm. Each time, I've thought how lovely they'd be on a tart. Yesterday, I finally made one: with a pâte sucrée base, crème anglaise custard, and fresh strawberries. I also did a light layer of chocolate between the base and the crust; a technique I learned a long time ago when I made tarts a lot more often. With strawberries and a strongly vanilla custard, it's a nice additional touch.
